The 1967-'68 MKI is the purest of the breed, and of which 15,818 were built. The GT6+, featuring a revised rear suspension, had 12,066 built during its 1968-'70 production. The MK III of 1971-'73 introduced the revised, more modern-looking body, yet its mechanical makeup was essentially unchanged from the MKI; 13,042 were made.
